Summary

Bjartell et al. 1989 report that DSIP-like immunoreactivity is present in gut endocrine cells (gastrin/CCK, secretin, PYY/glicentin) in humans, pigs and rats — with the highest concentrations in human specimens — and that HPLC of gut extracts shows a single DSIP-like peak with the retention time of DSIP 3-9.

Limitations

Tissue-localisation study only; no interventional or clinical outcome; older methodology (1989); immunoreactivity ≠ confirmed intact DSIP presence (antibody cross-reactivity possible).
