Safety notes

Nausea is common. Severe hypoglycaemia can occur when used with insulin unless mealtime insulin is appropriately reduced. It can delay absorption of oral medicines and is unsuitable in gastroparesis.

Regulation
  • Pramlintide is a licensed prescription medicine in some jurisdictions for selected insulin-treated diabetes populations. Other amylin analogues have separate approval or investigational status.
